The SLPP has been informed by its chairman Prof. G.L. Peiris that he will challenge in courts the legality of a general meeting of the party due to be held tomorrow (22).

Legal action will be taken on the basis that decisions that will be taken at the meeting are invalid and null and void, he has said.

SLPP general secretary Sagara Kariyawasam informed Peiris in writing on April 11 that the party would hold a general meeting at no. 1316, Nelum Mawatha, Battaramulla tomorrow, starting at 10.00 am.
