Attempts cannot be allowed to destabilize the country in the guise of democracy and human rights, said state minister Kanaka Herath.
The government’s responsibility is to take legal action against any movement that unsettles the public and the country’s future, he said at recent functions in Rambukkana and Pinnawala.
According to Herath, the country has now gained progress in all spheres when compared to the previous year.
Certain anti-government groups cannot stand this transformation, he charged.
Referring to the anti-terrorism draft bill, the state minister said it is being introduced for the safety of the country and the people.
Those who oppose it appear for terrorism and do not love the country and the people, he added.
