Political crossovers are very likely in the two weeks that follows the New Year, said Prof. Channa Jayasumana of the Freedom People’s Congress.
Speaking to the media yesterday (09), he said that they would not be sided with any party. The MP said they would support, irrespective of politics, any decision for the good of the country.
Meanwhile, his colleague Wasantha Yapa Bandara said no one in their party would accept ministerial positions to stand with the Ranil Rajapaksa junta that is without a public mandate.
Earlier, SJB general secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara said leaders of minority parties are being deceived into proposing alliances.
He said his party was not interested in these proposals for support to the government. The SJB will not have anything to do with a government without a public mandate, Madduma Bandara stressed.
