The attorney general has requested the rejection of a writ petition filed alleging threats to the life of arrested drug dealer Salindu Malshika Gunaratne alias ‘Kudu Salindu’.
The plaint should not be taken up for hearing as it is based on mere assumptions, deputy solicitor general Shanil Kularatne told the court of appeal yesterday (15).
Gunaratne’s mother has filed the petition seeking a court order to prevent any harm to her son’s life while under police custody.
The court fixed the next hearing for March 20.
