Prime minister Dinesh Gunawardena says he is not resigning from his position.
In a statement, he said he is neither under pressure nor requested by anyone to step down.
Speculation to the contrary is part of a conspiracy to sabotage the government’s programme, said Gunawardena.
Just recently, MP Prof. Channa Jayasumana told the media that they have been asked to support a move to reappoint Mahinda Rajapaksa as the premier.
