A cyclist is in critical condition after he was hit by a luxury jeep in which state minister Sanath Nishantha was travelling.
The incident occurred near Puttalam town.
The 45-year-old victim was rushed to the Colombo National Hospital.
Immediately after the accident, Nishantha had left the scene in another vehicle, reports say.
