The SLPP won’t be a party to the UNP-led alliance proposed to be formed to contest the general election, said its leader Mahinda Rajapaksa today (24).
He was speaking to the media after a meeting of the party’s politburo at Nelum Mawatha in Battaramulla.
Rajapaksa said they would rise up again as a powerful party with the intention of winning a majority of seats at the upcoming polls.
