The parliamentary polls are likely to take place in the last week of November this year, according to Election Commission sources.
All the mainstream presidential candidates, including those from the SJB and the NPP, have pledged to go for a dissolution of parliament and snap polls if elected.
Once the new president takes oath on 22 September and with parliament dissolved in the same week, the general election could take place within 66 days, the commission said previously.
