Former President Maithripala Sirisena has decided to extend support to Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa, it is reported.
According to political sources, it is learnt that Sirisena, along with a group of organisers from the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, are scheduled to meet a representative of the SJB leader today (11) at a Nugegoda temple to make a final decision.
Former justice minister Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe has already paid the cash deposit to represent the Maithripala Sirisena faction of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party as a candidate for the upcoming presidential election.
Meanwhile, a special press briefing attended by the President's Counsel Dr. Wijayadasa Rajapakse will also be held at his Presidential Election Operations Office located at No. 201/7, Athurugiriya.
