Upul Kumarapperuma, lawyer and a leading figure in the Nationa People's Power (NPP), is playing the role of a Buddhist monk in the tele drama ‘Kodi Gaha Yata’ telecast on ITN.
Another lawyer and NPP activist, Susantha Dodawatte, plays the role of a second Buddhist monk in the tele drama directed by Jagath Manuwarna.
Kumarapperuma acted in a number of youth dramas including ‘Juliya’ and ‘Maya Doratu’ around 30 years ago.
He was in the NPP’s national list at the last general election.
