Sri Lanka’s Tharushi Karunarathna set a new Asian and national record in the women’s 800 metres at the 2023 Asian Athletics Championship in Bangkok, Thailand yesterday (16).
The 19-year-old clocked two minutes and 06 seconds to clinch gold.
Compatriot Gayanthika Abeyrathna took bronze with a timing of 2:03:25.
