The former chairmen of nine local government bodies in Hambantota have extended their support to independent presidential candidate Ranil Wickremesinghe, according to lankadeepa.lk.
This was announced to the media by the forum of heads of LG bodies in the district, under the auspices of deputy speaker Ajith Rajapakse.
According to Rajapakse, nine out of the 12 LG bodies there support Wickremesinghe, while one is with the SJB and two function independently.
