URF leader Patali Champika Ranawaka has challenged president Ranil Wickremesinghe to cancel the licenses of alcohol producers who have defaulted on excise tax payments.
He was speaking to the media following a public meeting in Kotikawatte on 26 August.
The outstanding excise tax presently stands at Rs. 2,000 billion, the collection of which could have doubled revenue of the state, he said.
Ranawaka also demanded strong action against the public security minister over the online visa issuance scam.
A case will be filed against him in the supreme court soon, added Ranawaka.
