The Election Commission has warned all presidential candidates against promoting any candidate other than himself, reports divaina.lk.
Any errant candidate and the media institutions that promotes his line will be taken to court, said its commissioner general Saman Sri Ratnayake.
The commission and the director general of information will keep a watch in this regard especially in the state and private electronic media, said Ratnayake.
A candidate found to be at fault will have his airtime suspended on electronic media too, said the election commission chief.
