Former Parliamentarian Sujeewa Senasinghe yesterday (20) questioned the NPP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake as to how he is going to scrap the VAT, if he happens to be President.
Senasinghe said that the NPP should tell the country as to how they will find the money to repay the debt.
“If they lack a proper mechanism to find funds for debt servicing, the IMF would not provide funds”, he said.
He said that a parliamentarian who is tipped to the Finance Minister of a NPP government said that they can resort to money laundering.
“Another leader of the NPP says that they would provide loans without collateral. These are mere election promises which will never become a reality,” he said.
