The political culture of cleaning pots and pans in Ranil Wickremesinghe’s kitchen should end, said Mawbima Janatha Party (MJP) leader Dilith Jayaweera.

Speaking at the party’s Ampara district conference yesterday (24), he said there should be no more slaving at Wickremesinghe’s mansion by those elected on the SLPP ticket.

Jayaweera said a clear change from conventional politics and thinking anew are needed.

People suffer due to the works of political yes-men, he said, adding that his party wanted, together with like-minded people, to make public life more comfortable.

That is why we believe in an entrepreneurial state in which all are united under nationalism, he said.

Speaking further, the MJP leader said the first programme draft of ‘Sarvajana Balaya’ will be placed before the public on 27 June.
