Digital databases of 20 state institutions installed at a cost of many hundreds of millions of rupees are now in a state of redundancy.
Chairman of the Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) Lasantha Alagiyawanna says they include the one at the Inland Revenue Department that cost Rs. 17,000 million.
He stresses the need for the proper maintenance of digitalized systems to make these institutions efficient and to earn more income.
