The National Movement for a Just Society has called for independence, mutual understanding and respect among the Constitutional Council, judiciary and the executive.
Each should identify their roles and responsibilities to avoid clashes, said chairman of NMJS Karu Jayasuriya in a statement.
It is important that none should underestimate or ridicule any of the others when a clash of opinion occurs.
Jayasuriya urged them to resolve any arising issues without any delay.
