URF leader Patali Champika Ranawaka has called for a national-level dialogue on sexual rights, abortion and prostitution.
Even globally, a debate is ongoing about sexual divergences of humans, he said.
Ranawaka was speaking to the media following a meeting at his office this morning (20) with regard to a framework prepared by election monitor PAFFREL to political party policies more meaningful.
He was also asked about alleged attempts by the president to put off elections by intimidating the judiciary over a Supreme Court ruling on the gender equality bill.
Ranawaka noted that elections cannot be postponed by threatening the Supreme Court in a country which has no military rule.
The judiciary bases its decisions on available facts and the written law as a guideline, he added.
