Noting that politics have been something inherited down the generations up to now, leader of the National People's Power (NPP) Anura Kumara Dissanayake has called for the formation of a government of the common masses at least once.
Sajith Premadasa may be thinking of the presidency as something due to him from his father, while Mahinda Rajapaksa thought about the future of his sons only.
“Their families thrived. Political thuggery flourished. A ring of thieves was created. They prospered. People were ruined,” he said.
The United National Party's Wajira Abeywardena and Palitha Range Bandara want Ranil Wickremesinghe given the presidency without elections.
The ruling class has come to fear things like never before, as the NPP has risen up against the Wickremesinghe, Rajapaksa and Premadasa trio.
Dissanayake said they would not get worried by that, because people are rallying behind the NPP.
