Three more skeletal remains were unearthed at Kokkutuduvai gravesite in Mullaitivu yesterday (23) making it a total of 27.
It was the fourth day of excavations since work resumed following a more than two-month pause.
JMO Kanagasabapathy Vasudeva said at the end of the day’s work that LTTE tags, ammunition and bomb parts were also found.
Skeletal remains believed to belong to 17 persons, including that of LTTE members, had been dug up by the time work stopped on 15 September to analyze the evidence gathered upto then.
Magistrate Dharmalingam Pradeepan supervised the resumption of excavations on 20 November for further human remains.
The JMO said radar equipment would be used to determine the extent of the gravesite.
Water supply workers digging to lay pipelines stumbled upon the grave on 29 June.
