A group of young MPs of the SJB have demanded an immediate clarification from party chairman Sarath Fonseka with regard to his plans to form a new party and his claim that he is apolitical.
They have asked party seniors to question Fonseka over these recent remarks by him, which they have strongly condemned.
It remains a question how he could form a new party after getting elected to parliament on the SJB ticket, and he will have to leave the party if he does so, they insisted.
These young MPs have also raised his repeated absence at the party’s parliamentary group meetings.
