State authorities have asked for more time to explain their having disregarded a court order given eight months ago against making new constructions at a Sivam Kovil in Mullaitivu.
Magistrate T. Saravanaraja fixed the next hearing for April 27 of the case, in which the construction of a Stupa by the Army at the site at Kurunthurmalai in Thannimurippu is challenged.
When it was taken up on March 02, respondents were ordered to submit a report on March 30.
At the next hearing, archaeology and police officials were present, but not their lawyers.
The lawyer for the complainants requested the magistrate to undertake an inspection of the site.
