SLPP MP Namal Rajapaksa accepts the need for a system change and claims he has always appeared on behalf of such a transformation.
He also said he had no issue with the struggle, but found those involved in that struggle not knowing their final goal.
Rajapaksa said he did not believe the SLPP’s innocent supporters had attacked the Galle Face protest site last year.
The MP was speaking after opening a party coordinating office in Bandaragama yesterday (26).
He invited those involved in the struggle to join hands with his party to start a new political journey for the country’s future.
Also speaking here, minister Pavitra Wanniarachchi said it was a grave mistake of the party to have made a president out of Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who was not a politician.
That mistake will never be repeated again by the party, she said.
