The Election Commission is due to meet tomorrow to discuss a new date for the local government polls and other related matters.
Its chairman Nimal Punchihewa said a meeting already took place on Tuesday via zoom technology with returning officers.
They were informed about the prevailing disruptions to the holding of the election due to a lack of funding.
The new election date is expected to be in May, said political sources.
