Media Minister Vijitha Herath has appointed new heads for  Rupavahini Corporation, Independent Television Network and Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation.

 

Senior Lecturer Senesh Dissanayake Bandara has been appointed Chairman of Rupavahini, senior lecturer Priyantha Vedamulla to ITN and senior lecturer Uditha Gayashan to SLBC.

Bandara, a senior lecturer of Sri Jayewardenepura University, is a film and television program director and screenwriter.

He also has a bachelor’s, Master’s, and a PhD in Mass Communication.

Vedamulla is a senior lecturer at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

His professional achievements, including being a featured writer, journalist, program producer, and director, demonstrate his capabilities in the media industry.

Gayashan, a senior lecturer at the University of Kelaniya has worked as the dean of the Department of Theatre and Performing Arts and Fine Arts at the University of Kelaniya.

He is also the former president of Sri Lanka National Photographic Art Association.

Meanwhile, Gamini Warushamana assumed duties as the new chairman of Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (Lake House).

A graduate of the University of Kelaniya, Warushamana began his career as a journalist with the Sunday Observer.

He holds a Master’s degree in Mass Communication from the University of Kelaniya and a Master’s in Economics from the University of Colombo.

Warushamana has extensive administrative and research experience, having worked in institutions such as the Department of Census and Statistics and the Gemidiriya programme.
