‘Girija’ by Manohari Jayalath won the award for the best novel at the Vidyodaya Literary Awards 2023 yesterday (01).
Organized by the Humanities and Social Sciences Faculty of the Sri Jayewardenepura University, the presentation was held for the 13th time.
The other winners were:
Best short story - ‘Andhaya Saha Suruttu Nyaya’ by Virajini Tennakoon
Best poetry – ‘Hengum Gangehi Hengila’ by Lakshantha Atukorale
Best column – ‘Tomson Mahattaya 1’ and ‘Tomson Mayattaya 2’ by Bandula P. Dayaratne
Best academic publication – ‘Warna: Sannivedanaya Ha Sagnartha’ by W. Ranjith Dharmatilake
