A delegation of Chinese spice importers is presently on tour in Sri Lanka to discuss furthering trade links with local producers.

Representing 42 institutions, the 50 traders will look into buying Sri Lankan pepper, cinnamon, turmeric, cloves, cardamom etc.

On 21 December, they had talks with agriculture state minister Mohan de Silva and his officials.

These Chinese importers have been making purchases from Sri Lanka Spice and Allied Products Marketing Board for two years now.

They also visited the Board’s main sales outlet at Battaramulla.
