May Day this year is due to be a historic one for women, says National People's Power (NPP) MP Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, claiming that for the first-time they have become politically-strengthened and are ready to show their strength.
"Our women have shown to the country and world that they are capable of taking up political leadership, organizing themselves and making effective interventions", Dr. Amarasuriya said.
"As the NPP, we will hold four May Day rallies that will mark the beginning of an era of transformation as demanded by the citizens, she added.
