Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa has asked National People's Power (NPP) leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake to face him in the proposed public debate without evading it by giving various excuses.

Also, the SJB’s economic committee is ready to face the NPP’s one.

Both debates could take place in May, said Premadasa.

He was speaking after handing over a smart classroom to Walpola Vidyalaya in Attanagalla yesterday (27).

The opposition leader said further that the outcome of any debate should become a ground reality.

He also accused the brother-in-law of the president of spreading falsehoods through his newspaper.

Premadasa said he could not meet the visiting Iranian president Raisi due to his busy schedule.

Also, he did not attend the dinner given in Raisi's honour because the host, Ranil Wickremesinghe, would have used pictures of the occasion to claim deals with him, said Premadasa.
