The third edition of Lanka Premier League (LPL) began today (06) at Suriyawewa with Jaffna and Galle teams playing in the curtain-raiser.
Later, Colombo and Kandy teams will play in the second fixture for the day.
Pallekele and R. Premadasa stadiums too, will co-host the tournament that runs until December 23.
Meanwhile, selector Pramodya Wickremasinghe alleged in a television programme that the sports minister was going to axe him for excluding Chamika Karunaratne from the team for the recent T20 series with Afghanistan.
