A worried International Cricket Council (ICC) is to pay special attention to reports of political interference in affairs of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).
At its executive committee meeting in Melbourne yesterday (13), the ICC took up the matter at length.
The ICC expressed deep concern over the unjustifiable decisions taken by the Sri Lankan authorities with the knowledge that it could lead to the country losing the opportunity to host tournaments and even getting banned.
A top level ICC team is expected to arrive in the island to look into the situation and report back, which will be the basis for the world cricket governing body’s future decisions with regard to SLC.
