Senior lawyer Namal Rajapaksa today (13) placed deposits to contest the upcoming presidential polls.
He will be the candidate of ‘Samabima’ party.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna candidate Namal Rajapaksa will place his deposits tomorrow.
Dilith Jayaweera places deposits
Deposits were placed for leader of the Mawbima Janatha Party (MJP) Dilith Jayaweera this morning to contest the election.
He will contest from the ‘Sarvajana Balaya’ alliance under the ‘star’ symbol.
MPs Udaya Gammanpila and Gevindu Kumaratunga were present on the occasion.
Gammanpila said Jayaweera could make the biggest turnaround at the election, noting that he is the only candidate vying on behalf of the anti-imperialist, patriotic forces.
"As such, we believe that he will get the votes of everyone who love the country," said Gammanpila.
