Incumbent Ranil Wickremesinghe would be left without even himself by the time the presidential election is over, said NPP national executive member Wasantha Samarasinghe.
When he became president, Wickremesinghe had the backing of 134 MPs, which has now come down to 92, Samarasinghe told a party rally in Kebithigollewa.
The election will see NPP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake elected as the president, he said.
