Presidential candidate of the NPP Anura Kumara Dissanayake has pledged to save the country from poverty and to take it to prosperity.
Those who had been questioning how a party that polled three per cent of the votes could come to power, are today asking what it would do if it gains power, he told a NPP rally in Embilipitiya on 10 August.
Dissanayake said his election manifesto would be introduced this month.
The main challenge would be to eliminate poverty and the NPP has a plan to take the country to prosperity, he said.
