MP, Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka yesterday (05) placed his deposit to contest the presidential polls as an independent candidate.
Also, Dhammika Ratnayake, a professional, placed his deposit to contest the election.
So far, 14 candidates have placed their deposits.
Wijeyadasa to govt. backseat
Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe has been given a backseat in the government since his resignation as the minister of justice.
He will sit in a seat behind the state ministers.
Rajapakshe stepped down in order to contest the presidential election,lankadeepa.lk reports.
