Two former presidents Chandrika Kumaratunga and Maithripala Sirisena encountered each other yesterday (26) at the 64th commemoration of the late premier S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike.
The commemorative event took place at the Bandaranaike Samadhi at Horagolla, with prime minister Dinesh Gunawardena as the chief guest.
Ven. Niyangoda Vijithasiri and Ven. Anamaduwe Dhammadassi Theras presided at the religious observances.
Last year, Kumaratunga and Sirisena remembered PM Bandaranaike separately.
