The US-based ‘Heart to Heart International’ has donated Rs. 4.29 billion worth of cancer medicines to Sri Lanka.
The donation will be used to help cancer patients who are struggling to access treatment due to the country's economic crisis.
The donation was facilitated by the Sri Lankan embassy in Washington, Presidential Secretariat and the Ministry of Health.
It is due to arrive in Colombo on 13 August 13, with ‘Heart to Heart International’ having borne all expenses associated with the donation.
