Leader of the Nawa Lanka Nidahas Pakshaya, Kumar Welgama was attacked yesterday (03) by a retired school principal over a land dispute, said Mathugama police.
Around 1.50 pm, a heated exchange occurred between the two inside a vegetable stall on Mathugama-Aluthgama main road, after which the attack took place.
The MP got admitted to hospital.
The attacker, a resident of Belvila, Agalawatte, has been taken into custody.
