The National Peopla's Power (NPP) has urged the people to rally forward against the government’s anti-democratic repression.
Its leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said the power of the people would definitely defeat the repressive regime.
It has now started attacking public protests and arresting agitators, the latest victim being a journalist who had been covering a demonstration, said Dissanayake.
Journalist Tharindu Uduwaragedara had been exposing the reality to the people, which has become a threat to Ranil Wickremesinghe who has no public mandate at all to be the president, he said.
Calling for his immediate release, the NPP leader also said policemen involved in his arrest should be legally dealt with.
