Tikiri Kobbekaduwa has tendered his resignation as governor of the Sabaragamuwa province effective from June 10.
Kobbekaduwa has submitted his letter of resignation to president Ranil Wickremesinghe.
He was appointed to the position by former president Gotabaya Rajapaksa in September 2019.
Navin Dissanayake is expected to be appointed new governor of Sabaragamuwa.
