The Colombo district court yesterday (26) issued an enjoining order against YouTuber Dharshana Handungoda effective for the next 14 days.

It prevents him from further circulating a video alleged to be defamatory of two officials of the Attorney General’s Department.

Judge Purnima Paranagama was taking up two cases filed by additional solicitor general Vikum de Abrew and senior state counsel Nayomi Kahavita.

The two accuse Handungoda of making comments defamatory of them with regard to court action to recover damages from the X-press Pearl maritime disaster.
