The economic impact from strikes is estimated at Rs. 46 billion a day, said finance state minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya.
He told journalists that this was going by the annual GNP of Rs. 16,809 billion, while the damaging impact on education was immeasurable.
It should be considered if baseless strikes are suitable for a country trying to raise her head amid all challenges, said the state minister.
