The SLPP never fears elections as it is a party that works for the well-being of the villages, according to ex-president Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Addressing party activists in Monaragala, he claimed most parties have failed to identify hopes and aspirations at the grassroots level.
Some parties that were certain of election victory are now back to reality, as they know the limit of their capability, Rajapaksa also said.
They are now committing a grave crime by taking people’s lives and the economy to ransom by striking work, he added.
