A man has succumbed to the injuries he had suffered in the water cannon and teargas fire by the police on a protest by the National People’s Power in Colombo yesterday (26).
He has been identified as 60-year-old Nimal Amarasiri, who was a NPP candidate for Nivitigala Pradeshiya Sabha.
Amarasiri died this morning at the ICU of Colombo National Hospital, JVP secretary Tilvyn Silva confirmed.
