Dullas wants EC members to resign

Meanwhile, Freedom People Council leader Dullas Alahapperuma has demanded the EC members to resign if they fail to conduct the election.

It is their duty to safeguard the voting rights of the people, not to avoid or postpone elections in line with government circulars, he told party candidates in Matara.

Accusing President Ranil Wickremesinghe of playing games with the law, the MP charged the president has distorted the law with the circular he has issued for the disbursement of funds by the treasury.

The government is showing its nudity to the entire world by attempting to put off the LG polls, Alahaperuma charged, and noted the dangerous repercussions of election postponements previously.
