Government printer Gangani Liyanage has ruled out printing ballot papers for the local government polls without sufficient funds and police protection.
She has told ‘Mawbima’ that the remaining printing work for the election would take between 20 to 25 days.
Liyanage said the Election Commission should get the Government Press exempted from the Finance Ministry circular that prohibits providing services on credit.
Or else, the EC should provide adequate funding without delay, as well as protection by the police, she added.
