The Government Press is making arrangements to print the more than 100 ballot papers required for the local government polls following a notification by the Election Commission.

The printing of other documents for the election is underway, Government Printer Gangani Kalpana Liyanage has told ‘Aruna’.

Owing to higher printing costs and increased paper and ink prices, the budget is expected to exceed the Rs. 200 million that was spent at the previous LG polls in 2018.

Liyanage added that an advanced payment has been requested from the Election Commission.
