State minister of finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya is in receipt of a preliminary report by the excise commissioner general into a racket of fake stickers on liquor bottles.
Siyambalapitiya said a complaint would be lodged with the CID to initiate legal action against the culprits.
Speaking to the media yesterday (19), he also said a forensic test would be carried out through a foreign institution to determine the level of digital indication of the stickers.
Furthermore, the Excise Department will entrust a team with a regular review of the income to ensure the sticker serves its purpose, he said.
