Asanga Jayalath, a veteran in advertising, has been appointed new director general of Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation by media minister Bandula Gunawardena.
A graduate in business management, he worked as media coordination secretary at the ministries of home affairs, justice, education and higher education.
Also editor of cia.lk, Jayalath has had foreign training and vast experience in social media and related technology.
His predecessor Ajantha Seneviratne took to facebook congratulating him on his appointment.
